Matter / Feed_Items
The feed item initiative was a badly needed reworking to the way Matter handled items posted in an activity feed.
Given how many parts of the app these elements touch, it became a prerequisite to many parallel workflows with the considerable overlap.
Matter is a service that allows professionals to send and receive quick feedback from their peers and collegues. Members are able to choose from an assortment of skills and set-up recurring feedback on a cadence of their choosing. Designing the feedback process was a fun challenge but this was one the few places where I was helping improve an existing design system, instead of owning it myself.
Feed items within the Matter App could be broken down into 4 groups:
- Events: Somebody joining or creating a Workspace.
- Announcements: Group activity starting or in progress.
- Posts: A user giving public/private feedback to another user.
- Activation: Reminders to finish setting up profile or Workspace.
