Instapaper / Redesign
The redesign of Instapaper came on the coattails of it's acquisition by Betaworks. With an extremely loyal user base, we wanted to make sure we leveraged everything that made the original app so popular while making the appropriate updates across the board.
Along with the design changes, we introduced many new features bundled up with our freemium model. The work entailed a simultaneous multi-platform update that included the web app (desktop/mobile), ios (mobile/tablet) and android.
Instapaper is a bookmarking service that allows web content to be saved so it can be "read later" on a various devices. It was founded in 2008 by Marco Arment and to Betaworks in 2013. The Instapaper team at Betaworks included myself (designer), Brian Donohue (engineer/CEO) and Rodion Gusev (everything else).
