Appreciate Library 1.0 was purposely designed to be hard-edged and somewhat brutal. Our MVP was based around luxury brands and we wanted a framework that would showcase the items instead of overpowering them.
It was meant to be a foundational layer that could be built upon and adjusted quickly as the team grew. Cosmetically, I felt it necessary to keep the system bare-bones – most of the visual design was considered temporary with updates incrementally phased in over time.
Appreciate is/was an app/service based on the idea of putting aftermarket value on items that you buy – focusing on quality over quantity. Doing this would initially involve having a “digital twin” (NFT counterpart) of every item a customer buys.
